Haiti - Gold Cup W 2024 (eliminatory) : Victory for Haiti over Costa Rica [1-0] (Video)

Thursday September 21, 2023, as part of the qualifications for the 1st edition of the Gold Cup W 2024, of the Confederation of North America, Central America and the Caribbean (CONCACAF) zone which will take place in the USA , our Grenadières in Group C of League A, faced the "Ticas" of Costa Rica on the lawn of the Félix Sanchez Olympic Stadium in Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic.

Starting XI:

#10 Nerilia Mondesir: (Montpellier HSC, France) (C)

A very close match as we expected. In the first period, our Grenadières, although in control, did not find the “Ticas” goals despite an opportunity from Batcheba Louis in the 34’.

Half-time score [0-0]

Upon returning from the locker room, we had to wait until the 61st minute for Nérilia Mondésir aka “NériGol”, on a decisive pass from Roselord Borgella, to score with a right-footed strike into the “Tica” net, opening the score for Haiti [1-0].

Subsequently, "the Ticas" despite their efforts came up against the solid Haitian defense which kept them away from the nets.
